Craig, Chloe, Chad & Carlee {Family Session}

Yay!  A beach session!  Living in land-locked Tennessee, this was a real treat.  The evening was a bit blustery, and the waves were a force to contend with, or stay away from, as was our case.  Regardless, this was a lot of fun!  Thank you for an enjoyable evening, "C" family.

Daisies

Daisies dotted the valley floor of Cades Cove a few weeks ago.  I imagine they're still nodding their heads in the breezes.  Wanting to find a quiet place, my family and I split off the main loop road with our books and blankets, and pushed the tall grasses aside to lay down in the field.  We were not far enough off the road, apparently, as we soon became the next "sight" for all the tourists expecting to see a bear or other exotic animal.  Traffic started backing up as everyone craned their necks to see what the people in front were stopping to look at!  When they saw humans, they waved at us.  Oh, dear!  So we picked up our blanket and books and pushed farther back into the field, this time getting into the really tall grasses where we were more hidden from sight.  I would have loved to have had a bear suit to don.  It would have been quite the sensation, I'm certain.  :)

These daisies had me busy with my camera.  They were just so beautiful, yet so simple, and still complex at the same time.  I recently had learned of the Fibonacci Sequence, and here I was seeing it all over the place, in the face of every pretty daisy.  I think I inspected at least a hundred of them, awed at what I was seeing.

I need a perpetual bouquet of these on my little desk in my living room.  They're just SWEET, don't you think?

Richard and Mary {Family Session}

I was blessed recently by having my cousins here for a "cousins reunion".  It's the first time in our adult lives that we've done such a thing, and it was definitely a repeatable experience!  My youngest cousin, Richard, and his family allowed me the time to capture a peak into their lives.  Their baby girl is precious, and was passed around the family a good bit, remaining good-natured throughout our time together.  I know Richard better from our childhood days than since we've all gotten married and lived far apart, so it was special to see him all grown-up and responsible, with a tight bond with his little girl.  She is definitely a Daddy's Girl, which I find so sweet to see.

Wishing you God's blessings on your little family, Richard and Mary.  Sending my love.

Graduate Portraits

I must confess, I am pretty happy with these pictures.  I've taken graduate portraits for five years now, starting out with a flash mounted on the top of my camera.  Through the years, my knowledge of my camera and equipment as well as understanding of lighting has grown tremendously.  Just last week, I bought an umbrella and stand, and figured out how to work it all with a radio remote.  The difference in ease of use and quality of picture was just shocking!  And let me tell you, the world of flash lighting just burst open.  Quite exciting!

Nathan stopped in to get his graduate portrait done today in all his regalia "duds", and when he was done, we tried it out on my little guy, who is graduating from Kindergarten in a couple of weeks.  Both "boys" are quite handsome, don't you think?
