Helen

I think this post could be about two women:  Helen, whom you can see in the photos, and her friend Sheryl.  Sheryl wanted to do something special for Helen for Christmas, and she wanted Helen to choose her gift.  Of all the things in the world that Helen wanted, it was some pictures of herself.  She hadn't had any made in a long time, and she wanted some for herself and for her son.  I was the honored one to be able to capture these moments with Helen.  And truly, it was special for me to be a part of this gift.  Thank you, Helen and Sheryl!

Magnify {Recording Artists}

 Heather, whom you have seen before here, recently contacted me about taking pictures for Magnify, the quintet she sings with.  A few weekends ago, they went up to Nashville where they spent two days recording their first album.  The pictures we got are for this album.  This is a first for them as far as producing an album is concerned, and a first for me as far as helping an artist with the presentation of their album.  These shots are the beginnings of this effort.

Wishing you well, Magnify, as you put your time and talents toward lifting up Jesus' name.

Genevieve 1 Year {Family}

It is a great privilege to have former clients of mine return for another photo session.  Jessica, Nathan, and baby Genevieve have repeatedly given me this joy during the course of Genevieve's first year of life.  I thought she was a perfect doll at her newborn session.  And she was.  I loved watching the wonder of this new creature in the eyes of Jessica and Nathan, and seeing how carefully they held and watched over her.  Then, at Genevieve's 3-month session, I saw personality appearing in this little doll, and a mommy and daddy who were much more comfortable with their not-so-tiny child.

Now, at one year old, Genevieve is still just as precious.  She is a brand-new walker, still timid and tippy.  Her personality is set in fully, and she brings constant smiles to her mom and dad.  She is adored, as all children deserve to be.  It is lovely to see and very special to me to capture.

Thank you, Nathan and Jessica, for bringing Genevieve back and allowing me to capture these glimpses of her first year of life.

Trevor {Senior Session}

I love my job!  There is so much variety in life, and I love experiencing it!  This session did not disappoint.

I met Trevor, and literally five minutes later I was being licked profusely by his massive Plott hunting dog while attempting to capture Trevor with his new hunting puppy, Cache (a Walker).  I was laughing so hard I couldn't see straight through my camera, and upon removing it from in front of my face, I saw not one Plott, but three!  Their tails were wagging in my view finder and slapping me on the neck.  Trevor's puppy had all the energy that any 6-month-old has, and really enjoyed her master's attention and did her best to let him know.  Cache is Trevor's special friend, and he is training her to hunt with him.   For the first part of the session, we tromped through his family's property,  which was torn to shreds by the tornadoes in April.  His mother pointed out the damage their house sustained, and my eyes took in the gravity of their property's damage as well.  Trevor and I climbed over tree limbs and tromped through the mud.  He did his best to ward off the big dogs from the pictures while calming his puppy.  --  Not an easy task!

I think I made Trevor break all kinds of gun "etiquette" rules by having him aim his gun at my lens.  He refused to do so at first, but after making sure all locks were in place, he finally obliged.  I don't think I'll be asking very many people to do such things.  I appreciated his caution.

The last half of the session we spent at an old run-down mill.  What a great place!  Trevor really enjoyed it here, and tried every door to see if he could get in.  It is truly a curious person's playground!

Trevor, I wish you all the best as you're finishing high school.  And much luck with training your sweet puppy!
